I Met Anchee Min!

I am so happy to say I got to meet Anchee Min last Thursday night! She is the author of many WONDEFUL books about women in China (historical fiction...just remarkable experiences...amazing!). For me, it was the equivalent of a teenager meeting some "it" tabloid celebrity or music star of the moment. I couldn't believe I was actually there, listening to her read her book to me (OK, well not just me, but it felt like it!). She was in Washington, D. C. on a tour for her newest book "The Last Empress", a sequel to "Empress Orchid" (my favorite book ever). I started reading her books to learn more about the role and condition of women throughout Chinese history. I have been so moved by them. These two books about the Empress TzuHsi have greatly inspired my trip back to China this summer. I can't wait to be back at the Forbidden City and Summer Palace with these "new eyes". I will be forever grateful to Anchee Min for her writing, her strength, and her truth. I am so glad my daughter got to go with me and have her picture taken with Ms. Min. "Empress Orchid" is dedicated to the adopted daughters from China. When I asked Ms. Min why, she said because they are the strength and power, but were for so long considered nothing. She seems to have a heart for our girls. What a happy night for me!

Spring has Sprung at Adoption Mama!

Hello Mamas! The new designs are here...well most of them! I still have a few surprises to come. Check out the site to some fun new designs. We have added a new fitted style shirt that is available up to size 3X- yeah! There is also a great new Waiting Mama shirt, and my fave- the Marinate in Motherhood shirt. Let the Vietnam and Guatemala Mamas know we have added shirts for them as well.

Late December Update...

Hello Mamas! And Daddies! Thanks for making December extra fun. Some of you will be getting Adoption Mama goodies under your tree! Ssshhhh...I can't tell!

As 2006 comes to an end, I just wanted to say a huge thank you to all the new ADOPTION MAMAs out there who have made our first year such a success. The best part for me, for sure, has been "meeting" all of you and hearing your adoption stories. There are a lot of great families out there. Please continue to send me your news, updates, and feedback.

Watch out for lots of fun in 2007. We'll have some new designs, including some mother/daughter fun...I promise! Maybe a sale too...

I will be on vacation with my family from Dec 26- Jan 1, so all new orders will ship Jan 2. I should have access to email however, so feel free to write and order during the break.
